It is a lively evening of dance and music where students of all levels - from beginners to advanced - join together in their love of dance. Chitravina Ravikiran In Concert
Harrice Miller Entertainment and Jiva Performing Arts present one of India's foremost classical musicians, CHITRAVINA RAVIKIRAN, at the Baruch Performing Arts Center in New York City.
Ravikiran will be playing the chitravina, the twenty-one stringed fretless lute, an ancient Indian instrument. Hailed as "perhaps the greatest slide player in the world" by Radio National, Australia, Ravikiran's name is synonymous with the chitravina and is known worldwide as CHITRAVINA RAVIKIRAN.
Jugalbandhi--A Grand Carnatic/Hindustani Concert
Harrice Miller Entertainment and Jiva Performing Arts present one of India's foremost Carnatic violinists, Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi, who will perform a duet with Hindustani flute maestro Pravin Godkhindi in New York City.
Accompanying them on the mridangam will A.R. Bala Skandan and on tabla, Charudatta Phadke.
An Evening of Bharatanatyam with Professor CV Chandrasekhar
World-renowned Dancer, Choreographer, Guru, Academician, Shri Professor CV Chandrasekhar will present a lecture-demonstration on aspects of Bharatanatyam.
This will be followed by a full repertoire concert by his disciple, Sonali Skandan, highlighting his choreography. The orchestra will be led by Professor CVC on vocals and nattuvangam, with AR Balaskandan on mridangam and Trina Basu on violin.
